Not only would such a school enable gifted students to interact with other people in a rigorous setting, dual enrollment credit would also be provided for the courses taken there.
He said this is not the first time he has worked to create such an institution. In 1997, he lobbied before the Virginia General Assembly for the creation of a governor’s school in environmental science in the Chesapeake Bay area.
