But the process was not the only thing residents were concerned about. Washington resident Rev. Jennings Hobson III, who said he supported Goodine in his request for the proposed shop, was among those who raised concerns about parking.
Hobson hoped it would not occur on the already overcrowded streets and instead be placed behind the building. He suggested that a sign be created to make people aware that parking was available.
Goodine said a parking lot would be built behind the new store and while he is uncertain of exactly how many spots he can fit, he thinks there will be adequate room for six spaces.
The idea of potential parking problems unleashed a string of concerns. Bill Pullen, who is Goodine’s next door neighbor, said he had known Goodine for 15 to 20 years and when Goodine had asked him if he any problems with the proposed shop he had said no.
