Upon retirement from the Marine Corps, he was employed by Con Agra and Sunflower as a driver for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, Loyal Order of the Moose, VFW Post 2785, and a member of the VFW “Cooties.”
Survivors include his wife, Betty Tapp O’Connor of Albany, four daughters, Helen Knight of Summerville, S.C., Debra Traw of Goochland, Va., Sheri Holman and Genia Howard of Amissville; three sons, Michael (Mike) O’Connor of Summerville, S.C., Tbny O’Connor of Texas, and Brian Kritz of Amissville; one sister Margaret Bieber of New Columbia, Pa., one brother, Mark O’Connor of Montgomery, Ala., 12 grandchildren one greatgrandchild, and three nieces.
