Wagner and Thorpe’s sister are hoping if the night’s events are replayed, it will spark someone’s memory.
“With a piece like this we want to get people talking," Wagner said. “People might remember something they have not thought about for 15 years."
The broadcast journalist said these pieces always generate new leads.
“I have done about 20 of these cold cases and they have always sparked more phone calls,” Wagner said.
Wagner was given full access by the Sheriff’s Office. In his piece he will be showcasing crime scene photos never seen before by the public and will walk his audience through the night’s events.
“The Sheriff’s Office was really willing to help us,” Wagner said. “They opened their files to us.
“One detective in particular I want to mention, Ray Acors, has really taken this case to heart. He really wants to get to the bottom of this. He is very dedicated.”
Lisa Thorpe says people ask her about the case and talk about her sister’s death frequently.
