Seven area Girl Scouts were honored with the presentation of the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting on June 6.
The ceremony was held at the Washington Baptist Church. Only two other Gold Awards have ever been presented to Girl Scouts in Rappahannock County, and only six percent of Girl Scouts receive this award each year.
All seven of the girls belong to Senior Girl Scout Troop 929. They are: Kori Alexander, Allyson Dodson, Charde Ferguson, Katie Giles, Ashlyn Paul, Elaine Smith and Karie Beth Von Fange.
