I his week the moving vans came to town and moved longtime residents, Eve and Stew Willis, who left their Mt. Prospect estate after 40 years. He is the town's former mayor.

Up the street, other movers were finishing the move of Louise van Dort from her office.

A few months ago, more long-time town residents moved out: Ray Gooch moved to Sperryville and Brad Fisher' and his wife to North Carolina.

All these people were key players in town politics over the past two or three decades. They ran the town. They all served on the town council at one time or another and on other boards and commissions. Two also served as town treasurer; one was the mayor.

They also at times were political foes and poli- \ tics here got as dirty as in Big Washington.

We want to say farewell to these old warriors.
