Laura and Anna Kreyling worked to fill an order for 19 hot dogs and sodas at last weeks’ Anniversary Sale at the Rappahannock Farmers Co-op. The hot dogs sold for 19 cents each, and the sodas for 10. Navy Airman Tony W. Atkins, son of Mahlon W. and Alice E. Atkins of Sperryville, recently received a letter of appreciation. Airman Atkins was cited for superior performance of duty while assigned to Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron 14, Naval Air Station, Norfolk, Va. Del. Jay Katzen, R-31st District, joined children, teen leaders, and adults from Rappahannock and Fauquier counties for 4-H overnight camp the week of July 31 to Aug. 4. Members of the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors toured the Blue Plains Sewage Treatment Plant in Washington, D.C. earlier this month in preparation for their joint public hearing on readopting the ban on land application of sludge scheduled for Sept. 12.
