Steven Kenny exhibit

The Middle Street Gallery in Washington is pleased to announce its September exhibition of oil paintings by local artist Steven Kenny. Entitled Anthropics, the show features 12 recent works on canvas by this painter well known for his surreal combinations of the human figure and elements from nature. The exhibit runs from Friday, Sept. 3 through Sunday, Sept. 26. An artist’s reception will be held on Sunday, Sept. 5 from 2-6 p.m.

Whorton/Cloud reunion

The family of the late Henry T. Whorton and Lillie M. Cloud will hold a reunion on Saturday, Sept. 4 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Rappahannock Recreation Park on Route 211. Family and friends are invited.

Democrats’ yard sale

The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee's annual yard sale is Sept. 4 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Washington Fire Hall. Everyone is invited to browse the tables for something special. There will be many good bargains. Democrats to yneet

The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at the Rappahannock County Library. Refreshments and conversation take place from 7:15 p.m. until 7:45 p.m. when the general meeting will begin featuring a special presentation on health care and a comparison of the two campaigns' positions by Stephanie Ridder.. Ballet at Belle Meade

Ballet classes will be offered at Belle Meade Schoolhouse beginning Sept. 13. The classes—Creative Movement (ages 3 and 4), Pre-ballet (ages 5 and 6), Ballet I (ages 7 to 9), Ballet II (ages 10-15) and Adult Ballet (ages 16-99)— will be taught by Meghan Cupp, a former professional ballet dancer.
