Mills said he has doubts that some of the Advanced Placenlent courses functioned well. He said he was not sure how many colleges actually gave the students advanced placement credits.
This year the school system arranged a series of courses for students to take for “dual enrollment college credit” through Lord Fairfax Community College. Among the courses are Advanced Placement (AP) U.S. history, Network Technology (Cisco), and Advanced Placement English. Students can also choose several courses taught by Lord Fairfax instructors by “compressed video,” a two-way video system. These include ethics/philosophy, medical terminology and psychology /sociology.
