Williams creates a wide variety of baked goods in the kitchen of her family home near the Warrenton Training Center.
“Let’s see, I make pound cakes, of course, and lemon bars and rolls,” Williams said. “I do something like 12 different kinds of cakes, some cinnamon buns, and I’ll be baking apple dumplings later this evening.
“And I do biscuits with old Virginia ham. A lot of people order them. Then I have some blueberry coffee cake.”
The dining room table was loaded with goodies that would be sold in less than 24 hours.
“I’ll bake about 25 to 30 cakes today, and then I’ll stop and get my rolls rising and then my cinnamon buns.”
Williams said she started baking at an early age.
“I just started this on my own,” she said. “I always loved baking, and after a while people started asking me to bake something for them, and then I got started in the (farmer’s) market. I love doing it. It keeps me going.”
