“We’ve come through before with small numbers,” said Strand, "and we can do it again.” Cross country runners focus on a 5K race, which is about 3.1 miles.
Strand hopes that during his first year as the team’s coach—he’s a business teacher by trade—he can be a consistent presence in his athletes’ lives and help them focus on not onl\ their running, but on their future as well.
