Recorded easements

Two conservation easements recorded on Aug. 13, both donated to the Virginia Outdoors Foundation, bring total easement protection in Rappahannock County to 16,407 acres—12.1 percent of all private land. The first, granted by Judith Hope, applies to 75 acres fronting on Route 211 near Massies Corner. It is the , second 2004 easement on Hickerson Mountain. The other, given by James Resor and spouse Catherine Scott protects 51 acres of the old Whippoorwill property just outside Washington.
