the children of Rappahannock County will have to go out in the world to make their way and that the agricultural industry of the county cannot support its children.
‘"We want a coordinated K- 12 curriculum,” Wesley Mills, chairman of the School Board said in an interview, “so every teacher knows when he gets a child at any level what work the child should be able to do.” He said they want to remove artificial barriers among elementary, middle and high school that would impede a student from moving through the system.
The school system conducted an unusual retreat in July where it brought together board members, administrators, teachers and citizens to create a “Strategic Plan” for the county's schools.
