roundup. Greg and I were working late, rearranging shelves. I opened the door to go outside, when cats ran past me and into the store. The chase was on as we attempted to get these wild kitties herded back outside before they could do much damage.
The cats weren’t nearly as bad as the birds. It was as though we had stepped into a scene from Hitchcock’s film “The Birds.” There were starlings flying menacingly around in the store leaving their lovely calling cards all over the floor. One had gotten into the back where we stay on weekends and made a mess on the headboard of our bed. It was amazing that they missed all the books — except for one. There was a biography about Kruschev with his photo on the cover
