Rappahannock County High School’s quiz bowl team went head-to-head against Clarke County, Manassas Park and George Mason last week, defeating Clarke.
The first match of the evening went well for the Panthers as they answered eight questions to Clarke’s three, giving Rappahannock an early 80-30 lead.
They lengthened their lead in the directed round, gaining another 20 points.
Going into the third round, the Panthers were ahead 15080. Clarke made a good showing, but was unable to make up the large lead held by Rappahannock.
The match ended 165-130 with Rappahannock winning.
Rappahannock then matched up against Manassas Park. The Cougars took an early 50-30 with the Panthers being slow on the buzzers in the first round.
