The Washington Town Council reviewed an application to vacate Wheeler Street at its Dec. 8 meeting.
Local residents Jimmy DeBergh and Diane Bruce made the request to council to ailow a new roadway to go through the Pleasant View Acres subdivision that has been proposed by DeBergh. The property lies at the intersection of Gay Street and Wheeler Street, adjacent to Bruce’s property.
The issue was referred to Town Planning Commission Chairman Gary Schwartz who requested consultation with Rappahannock
