tnat got nit. tne Diras aim could not have been better as Kruschev got it right in the mouth. I’m not sure if the bird was trying to make some kind of commentary. I thought I had gotten all of our feathered friends out of the store until I reached under a table to clean and put my hand right on a dead bird. I’m sure my scream could have been heard by my children all the way back in Fairfax. Thank Heavens for Tom Sullivan, who came and removed the deceased for me.
Despite these many challenges, despite the fact that customers seem to assume I have read every book ever written and know exactly what they want when they ask for “the book written by that guy that was on some television show last year,” and despite having to answer the burning question asked by tourists at least 20 times a day: “Did this used to be a church?” we have enjoyed 2004 very much.
We have had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people, speak with terrific local authors, and provide books of local interest to the communitv.
