Sheriff John Henry Woodward reported a number of unusual crimes in the past week. Two “Coffeewood” trees were stolen, one from a farm near Castleton and the other from a farm near Huntly. On Sunday afternoon two cases of wine were taken from a car trunk shortly after the owner had bought them at Gray Ghost Vineyard. Three Christmas trees were cut and taken from Spring Hill Tree Farm in Gid Brown Hollow, Sheriff Woodward reported, but the thief only got away with two because one tree fell off the truck.
