Rappahannock’s

first day spa opens

By Jennifer Tepper Heverly

Special to the Rappahannock News

Rappahannock County now has its own day spa, Nature’s Way Day Spa. The spa recently opened at the Rappahannock Wellness Center, which is located on the upper level of the Hearthstone School building on U.S. Route 211, two miles west of Sperryville, Virginia.

The owner, Terri Freeborn, is a Rappahannock County resident with 16 years experience in the healing arts and spa services. She has worked at three previous spas over the years. Most recently, she opened Spa Zen in Culpeper, Virginia with a partner in June 2005, believing that Culpeper might be a good market for a spa.

In tracking her clientele, she saw that fifty percent were coming from Rappahannock County, and realized that there was a need and a desire for these services in her own county. With a desire to fill that need and a desire to return to Rapp hannock, Freeborn decided to open the county’s first day spa.
