Prevention Program Specialist
Mental Health/Mental Retardation
Prevention Specialist position to provide services to the schools and the community for Prevention and Community Outreach Services of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Position will provide community and school-based services to at-risk youth and their families, program evaluation, and program budget management. The position will provide collaboration with the Loudoun County Public Schools, other agencies and coalitions to ensure that community prevention programming addresses high risk behaviors and promote the development of protective factors. The candidate must be knowledgeable in research based substance abuse and violence prevention programs; possess strong organizational skills: have experience in working with at-risk youth; have experience in co-leading groups and public speaking; and demonstrate the ability to function effectively in an interagency and collaborative capacity. This position could involve activities in a recreational setting. Requires Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field, and a minimum of two years experience in the field. Master's degree preferred. Must have a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence. Employment is contingent upon background check, driving record check, and TB test. Position will administer the Procurement Division's mainframe and web-based systems, assist with procurement compliance, and provide technical and procurement training and advice. Typical duties include: developing and accurately programming all user security and system tables; performing database reporting for regular reporting and adhoc requests: developing, promoting, and teaching technical and procurement classes: maintaining accurate training records; providing internal and external customer service; and assisting with systems software development and maintenance, including planning and implementing new system features. The position requires an in depth understanding of the FAMIS Accounting and Purchasing systems: the ability to analyze and test complex software problems, the ability to manage projects: the ability to apply policies and procedures to others' work and identify non-compliant transactions; the ability to work independently and participate as a team member with IT Staffand software vendors. General knowledge of procurement law, policies, and procedures is required.
