Kid Pan Alley receives
Grammy nomination

Kid Pan Alley has been nominated for a Grammy for the Kid Pan Alley Nashville CD. Thp CD features some of Nashville’s top recording artists including Amy Grant, Delbert McClinton, Kix Brooks, Raul Malo, the Nashville Chamber Orchestra, Suzy Bogguss and others singing songs written with the children of Nashville.
An initiative of Ki Theatre, Kid Pan Alley was founded by Trapezoid’s Paul Reisler in 2000. That first residency in the Rappahannock Co., VA schools produced the album, Tidal Wave of Song. Ever since, he has written over 600 songs with over 12,000 children throughout the country.
Kid Pan Alley returns for a week of songwriting in February at Wakefield Country Day School in Flint Hill. The residency ends with a concert of the songs on February 10th. In addition, plans are underway for a two-week residency next fall in Rappahannock schools.
The Nashville album will be released nationally by Compass Records in late January. In the meantime it is available at Sunnyside Market in Washington and at www.CdBaby.coih/KidPanAlley2.
The Nashville album has already won two major awards including a Parents’ Choice Gold Award and a NAPPA Gold Award. Grammy winner Amy Grant said, “The Kid Pan Alley CD has not left my car CD player since I first received it. Kids of all ages love it. The songwriting of the school children along with adult songwriters is so incredibly disarming.”
Robert Fritz, best selling author of Creating and The Path of Least Resistance said, “Not too many people can do what Paul Reisler can do, firing the spirit of music and creating to new generations, opening up one of the most important doors there is. He is a national treasure.”
