Man threatens wife with
broken glass
8:45 a.m. December 16, Friday.
A female resident of Fodderstack Road came to the office of The Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Department complaining of a violent incident with her husband that had occurred a week before.
According to the complainant, her husband Jeffrey Cooper,40, broke a window in their home and threatened to cut her with the broken pieces.
Deputy Breeden followed up the complaint, and Cooper was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery. If he is found guilty, it will be Cooper’s third such offense, and the RCSD is holding him without bond.

In an attempt to find the killer of his horse, Peter Hitchen of Sperryville has run a full page ad on page A5 of the Rappahannock News this week, offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the party! s) responsible.
The Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Department has declined to comment on their progress in the investigation of the Dec. 4 shooting death of a valuable horse belonging to Hitchen. The horse, a bay field hunter named Hasty Hobo, was found dead from a gunshot wound in a pasture at Hitchen’s Fullclip Farm the morning of Sunday, December 4.
“This is a great loss to me,” Hitchen said after discovering the crime.
The horse was last seen alive 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 by Hitchen’s girlfriend Amy Liscomb. Shortly after that sighting, Liscomb heard shooting
