Feb. 18: Uon club music contest

The Rappahannock Lions Club 23d Annual Bland music contest will be held at the Theatre in Washington, on February 18 at 2 p.m. Student vocalists and instrumentalists in Rappahannock County schools, grades K-12, are encouraged to register for the contest, which awards cash prizes to the winners. Registration forms may be obtained from school music directors or by calling Bob Lander, 540-987-8504 (email kplander@aol.com). Registration forms must be returned to the Lions Club by February 5th.

Feb. 22: Old Schoolhouse Buffer

On Thursday Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m., you are invited to join a workshop to plan the Old Schoolhouse Buffer Restoration Project. We are considering the site plan, removal of invasives, selection and acquisition of trees and shrubs and grasses to plant, design of trails and educational markers, site preparation, the recruiting of volunteers, and overall schedule.
