PRETRIAL OFFICER

PRETRIAL OFFICER Community Corrections Position with Loudoun County Office of Community Corrections. Responsible for interviewing and investigating incarcerated pretrial defendants charged with violating criminal laws and evaluating their suitability for community supervision. Prepare bond recommendations/risk assessments for Court. Supervise defendants placed into the program by the Courts, including monitoring all conditions of bond, drug testing, criminal record checks and treatment verification. Testify in Court as needed. Complete the defendants' application for Court-appointed legal counsel. Requires a Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, psychology or related field and three years directly related experience in criminal justice or counseling. Must have a VC1N Operators Certification or obtain within six months of hire. Must be certified to conduct State mandated substance abuse assessments (Simple Screening Instrument) within sixty days of hire. Mandatory criminal record and fingerprint check required for successful candidate. Valid driver's license required.
