In my last article I suggested that the new year was an ideal time to take an inventory of your home, evaluate how you are using it, think about the way things appear and what may need to be changed.
Your living space is such an important part of your lifestyle, but sometimes it gets taken for granted.
It is helpful to make these lists, as life changes and evolves and new goals and desires emerge. Some things simply wear out or begin to look out dated.
If not starting over, editing or recycling become necessary to retain the purpose, function, and visual pleasure in your rooms.
Now that your inventory is done, what comes next? Making a plan!
What does a design plan entail? Where does a person begin? Alexandra Stoddard, a life style writer, lists the following elements to consider when planning for a better room:
• Walls
• Lighting
• Ceilings
• Fabric
• Floors
• Color
• Windows
