MANAGING EDITOR needed for busy news operation in Warrenton, Virginia, 45 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. This position involves day-to-day newsroom management, story assignment, editing and page design for paid Wednesday hard-news newspaper (15,000 circulation) and Friday Weekend edition (10,000 circulation), plus editorial oversight of a weekly free publication (15,000). Ability to direct and motivate staff, work with production department, and meet deadlines for regular editions and special issues is critical. Familiarity with electronic publication will be helpful.
