Scholastic Bowl Team wins
The RCHS Scholastic team won all three matches last week at Strasburg defeating Clarke County, Manassas Park and Strasburg High Schools. The team’s regular season record is 9 and 3 with the only losses being to George Mason. The Panthers will be seeded second at the District Tbumament at Clarke County High School on Sat., Feb. 3 at 10 AM.

House - accepts applications
The Mountain Vista Governor’s School is pleased to invite prospective students and parents to an Open House from 7:00 to 8:00 on February 7, 2007 at the Warrenton Campus in the Bam. Faculty and staff will be present to discuss the MVGS program and answer questions. Current MVGS students will be available to describe their experience in the MVGS program.
Applications for Mountain Vista Governor’s School will be accepted in February for the fall of 2007 from outstanding rising 11th and 12th graders from the counties of Clarke, Culpeper, Fauquier, Frederick, Rappahannock, Warren and the City of Winchester. Please contact your gifted and talented coordinator, high school guidance office, or Mountain Vista’s web site (mvgs.kl2.va.us) for more information.
RCPS and the Arts
The Rappahannock County School Board and administration value arts programs in the schools.
Currently, the RCPS employs three music teachers, two art teachers, and a part-time drama teacher. There are multiple concerts each year to give students opportunities to perform music for their peers, parents and the community.
