Washington’s representative on the Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission.
On Oct. 24, Washington gained membership with the commission, an association of counties and towns in the region that assists with grant writing, tourism promotion and land-use planning.
Sullivan will join representatives from other member towns and counties at commission meetings and discussions.
Council member Claudia Mitchell, who helped spearhead Washington’s move toward membership, nominated Sullivan at the council’s Nov. 14 meeting.
“I think it’s a wonderful thing,” she said.
