iounty. Multidimensional cut metal mobiles hang from a rack near the cowboy hats and shirts. Martha’s assortment of those Minnetonka Moccasins will make anyone’s feet happy! In addition to honey, jams and apple butter, there are large jars of wonderful Amish fruit for pie filling. There is so much more, I cannot include it all. Having cruised around the shop, as I prepared to leave, I was serenaded by the wall clock that plays Christmas carols (and other tunes). This is a fun shop to visit. Be sure to stop in.
BARBARA & EDDIE GORE’S CORNER FRUITS AND CRAFTS: Barbara Gore’s father, Joe Atkins, started this business which now stretches to five generations with Eddie and Barbara’s daughter and grandchildren. Stop here to get your whole and sliced country ham, bacon and side meat, grown and cured locally by Kite’s in Madison. Barbara enjoys making holiday wreaths, some of which are made with fresh greens and while others are artificial. A unique offering is the chain saw carved bird houses by Warren Pence from Shenandoah, a man who specializes in wildlife chain saw carving in wood. Also in the craft shop are black bear statues, jars decorated with bears and roosters and crystals with designs on lighted bases.
