Shop wail a Deputy Christmas Program
The Rappahannock County Sheriff* Office wil be sponsoring our 12th anal “Shop with * Deputy” program this Christmas season for some of the cotmty’s most needy citizens. The date for this yew's program will be December 15th, 2007. With the holiday season upon us, it is oar goal to make Christinas a very special time for children who would miss cot on some hoEday fin doe to circumstances beyond the foodies financial control
Your Rappahannock County Sheriffs Office, in corgunction with other county representatives, will select children whose finales have Idle or no funds for the Christmas Holidays. Once the participating children are selected, the parents are contacted for their approval and permission for their child to attend. The children will meet at the Sheriffs Office where they will be paired op with a uniformed officer who wiB assist the children with then purchases. The children will then be driven to K-Mart in Root Royal, where they can purchase a $100 worth of merchandise for themselves or their fondles. Necessary, winter clothing always comes first!
Once the shopping is completed, the children w31 have an opportunity to eat breakfast with the offiixrs and visit with Santa Claus. While the children eat breakfast, volunteers wrap the presents |he children selected. After breakfast and some fun entertainment, the dteldren wffl receive their wrapped presents and a food basket for each famgy.
This program has been an incredibie success the last eleven years, and we hope to make it even better this year. We are asking you, the private citizens and business owners, to help os by sponsoring a child. You can do so by sending a tax-deductibie contrfoution to “Shop with a Deputy”. AB contributions will go toward the enrichment of our Rappahannock County children’s lives.
The Rappahannock Coumy Sheriffs Office is very excited about this project; we hope to involve at least 80 children this year. Wth your help and support we know this program will continue to be an anmal event that is a huge success.
