One inspection found that a pipe had been cut while a gas company was digging a trench in the yard. A couple more have led people to decide to replace their septic tanks entirely.
“There may be some people who don’t have a system,” Wichelns said. “We can install a whole system for people who don’t have one.”
The program is voluntary, so a site visit does not obligate a landowner to do anything more.
