Hearthstone
Lantern walk
On Friday, Dec. 21, Hearthstone School will have its annual lantern walk, led by teacher Kitty Keyser. Anyone who would like to come is welcome. The group will meet in Washington at the fountain near the Episcopal church at 5 pan. and then set out to sing songs and vist people in town.
The walk is in celebration of the winter solstice, the longest night of the year. The group will cany lighted lanterns as a reminder that we cany light within us.
The nursery and kindergarten class is making papiermache lanterns that will hold tea lights.
Since October; the high school’s fund-raiser has earned enough to save three acres of rain forest land. The high school is selling Newman’s Own organic chocolate bars. The sale will continue throughout the year Some of the proceeds will also go toward the annual high school trip. Plans for die trip are still under discussion.
Items from the holiday bazaar on Dec. 1 are on sale in the Community Room daily tmtil 5 pm
