I would become increasingly familiar with, and frustrated by, that question as the months passed. So many people, while they had vaguely positive feelings about the organization, had no idea what Headwaters actually did. And I found it hard to explain.
My stock answer was to list the many programs Headwaters runs to improve the educational resources available to local children. Starfish Mentoring, Teacher Man-Grants, Summer Workshops.
