Pierogi
The accordion music in the background played a lively polka while Ray and I ate pierogi with his mother on Friday night of Thanksgiving weekend in south Rome at The Polish Home, a community center known for church activities, for dinners at its restaurant/bar, and parties and weddings in the dance hall. “I just made this tape last week.” Mr. Lekki came by each table greeting the diners, mainly septuagenarians and octogenarians, inviting all to the Christmas party where he will entertain them with his music, as he has done for many years.
