With Emily’s death this past April, everyone who knew her or knew of her reacted and grieved in their own ways. “We had nothing to do with it,” smiled Eric Hilscher of the large community memorial that took place at Rappahannock County High School. “We were amazed at the outpouring and level of community support and love and we’d like to do some good out of this terrible thing that has happened.”
It was Emily’s unusual spark for grabbing hold of life, how she lit up a room whenever she entered, how her sense of humor made you laugh and how just being around her was an inspiration. Emily’s passion for life was contagious and it’s this passion, this recognition of light and sparkle, that the Hilschers would like to celebrate in others and in doing so - celebrate the life of their daughter.
