THE RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY CODE

CHAPTER 170, ZONING, RELATING TO PENALTIES FOR ZONING V IOLATIONS

The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors shall hold a public hearing to consider the following amendment to the Rappahannock County Code on Monday, January 7, 2008, at 7:00PM at the Courthouse in Washington. Virginia:

Amend §170-138A to read as follows:

Who violates any provision of this chapter; or.

Who erects modifies, or uses any building or who uses any land, in violation of any site plan, permit or proffer approved either under this chapter or under any prior zoning

Who violates any provisions of Article 7, Chapter 22 of Title 15.2 of the Cede of Virginia for which another penalty is not specifically provided; or.

Who conspires with, aides, abets or permits another to do any of the forgoing. Shall foe guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $10 nor more than $1,000. If the violation is uncorrected at the time of the conviction, the court shall order the violator to abate or remedy the violation within a time period established by the court. Failure to remove or abate a violation within the specified time period shall constitute a separate misdemeanor offense punishable by a fine of not less than $1(1 nor more than $1JMKL and any such fiiihure during any succeeding Id-day period shall constitute a separate misdemeanor offense for each Id-day period punishable bv a fine of net less than $1«» nor more than $L5Wk Proceeding under this paragraph shall not restrict or limit any other remedy available under the law. At the time of its adoption this paragraph incorporated

the Code of Virginia, bi the event future amendment to § 15.2This

proposed amendment shall be considered by the Rappahannock County Planning Commission at a public heating to be held on Wednesday. December 19. 2007 at 7:30PM the Courthouse in Washington. Virginia.
