Stokes Elected
Head of Cold Storage
The annual meeting of the stockholders of Rappahannock Cold Storage Cooperative, Inc. was held Tuesday morning at the offices in Sperryville. Elected president of the coop is A. Y. Stokes and C. E. Johnson, Jr. was elected vicepresident. Mrs. Fred W. Schaefer was named secretary All are of Sperryville. At this meeting planningwas done for the packing, storing and handling of the apple crop which is just maturing. There is a heavy crop of apples this year in the county, according to most orchardists.
Cattle Killed By Lightning
Fourteen head of stock were apparently killed by lightning Saturday night on a farm owned by William N. Lane near Sper ryville. , The animals, eight cows and six calves were found in a heap under a tree on the Lane farm, formerly o wne d by R. E. Wood. The field contained about 150 head of stock.
