Miss Shirley Ann Deal, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Deal of Peola Mills, was married to Mr. Paul Eugene Coates of Etlan on Saturday, July 25, 1965 in the Etlan Methodist Church. Mr. Coates is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Coates. The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. Bernard Troutman and' the Rev. B. B. Kent before an altar banked with palms, white pompoms, gladioli and lighted candles. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of Chantilly lace over taffeta fashioned with a scalloped neckline and long sleeves. Her veil fell from a crown of pearls. She carried a bouquet of white carnations. Miss Lillian Reeve of Sperry ville was maid of honor. Her dress was powder blue peau de soie with a bell shaped skirt. She wore a matching headpiece and shoes and cay-: ried a bouquet of pink poitipoms.
