To School Board
At a meeting of the School Trustee Electoral Board on Tuesday, July 27, 1965, Mr. J. Maurice O'Bannon was re appointed School Board member representing the Stonewall District for a four-year term. Said term will expire on July 30, 1969. Members of the School Trustee Electoral Board for Rap pahannock County are: James R. Latham, C. E. Johnson, Jr. and John S. Browning.
Town Celebrates
Quiet Birthday
The Town of Washington took it’s 216th Birthday in stride yesterday, in fact, it seemed almost like any other day. A trip around the old village would convince you that a sur prising number of the houses of yesteryear have survived the ravages of time and are in remarkable condition. The Town Council had call ed a Town Meeting at the Rap pahannock County Library which is housed in a former Presbyterian Church over 100 years old. After a general dis cussion on town improvement a color film was shown. The film was entitled “A Leaf Through History1' and was of special interest to the members of the newly organized Rappahannock Historical Society who were present. After lemonade and birthday cake were served,many finished the evening by attending the fireworks display at the Flint Hill Carnival.
