Raymond Moore, 59, of near Amissville sustained gunshot wounds in the stomach Sunday night at his home after an argument with another man. He is in serious condition in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal. Arrested Monday morning and charged with felonious assault is John Thomas Myers, also of near Amissville. Troop er Ronald W. Willis of Warren ton, who made the arrest, said Myers confessed to the shoot 1 ing. He was lodged in Fauquier jail and bond was set at $2,000 A preliminary hearing isscha duled for Monday, August 23, at 2 p.m. Though the Moore address is Amissville, the property is located in Fauquier County, past Tapp’s ford. According to authorities, the shooting which occurred about 10 p.m. followed an argument between the two men, both of whom had been drinking. Several blows were passed and Myers got in his car and drove off. He parked the vehicle about a quarter of a mile from the Moore home, took his gun, a 22 calibre rifle, from it and returned to the Moore house. When Moore heard his dogs
Amissville H.D. Club Elects New Officers
Officers elected for Amissville Home Demonstration Club to serve the comincvear are; Mrs. Katherine Riley, pres.; Mrs. Pauline Latham, vice president; Mrs. Jeannette Curtis, secretary; Mrs. Jean Burner, treasurer. The election took place at the regular August meeting held Monday evening. The demonstration for the meeting was care of the hair and was conducted by Mrs. Betty Baldwin, who, being a professional, gave an informative and interesting program. Mrs. Baldwin is proprietor of Baldwin’s Beauty Shop near Amissville.
