Friday evening, four of the Rappahannock Scouts were tap ped for the Order of the Arrow. They were Wade W. Mas sie and Stewart Hawkins, Wash ington, and C. E. Dodson and Roy Thomas, Sperryville. To be selected for the Order of the Arrow is one of the highest honors in scouting. Boys must excell in cheerful service, and all around camping ability. The Canadian Scouts challenged all of the troops to competetive softball games. The Canadians blasted a Winchester Troop 10-1 then took on a team made up of Rappahannock boys. The locals topped their northern neighbors 9-6, and the Canadian Scoutmaster complimented Wade Massie and C. E. Dodson on their excellent performance. During the week of July 18-24 Champ Carney, attended the scout camp and extablished a record by acquiring seven merit badges in a single week. This is exceptional in any boy, especially an 11 year old.
