"From 1969 to 1975 Virginia’s median family income rose by 49 per cent, only slightly more than the 47 per cent increase in the consumer price index,” said Dr. Knapp. “Thus, on balance, there was only a small increase in real family income.”
He predicts that this same economic trend will continue. “The projections for 1980 allow for some growth in real income, but most of the gain will be due to inflation,” Knapp added.
