The Rappahannock Scouting movement is in jeopardy. Leaders for both boys and girls are faced with having to disband established troops or at best, accept no new members, because of lack of adult volunteers.
The Woodville Cub Den is bursting with 13 boys. Scout regulations suggest that membership be limited to six. The leader there may have to decide which children can stay and which will have to drop out if help isn’t found.
Amissville Scout leaders are sure that there are more children in the community interested in joining the scouting program. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough adult volunteers to go around in that end of the county either.
The Girl Scouts may lose an intermediate troop and no new little ones can be accepted as Brownies in the Washington-Sperryville area without more women willing to supply leadership.
