Since 1930, William Byrd Chapter has been custodian oY the President Madison Cemetery at "Montpelier,” the home of Mrs. Marian duPont Scott. Madison, fourth president of the United States, and his wife, Dolley, are buried in the cemetery which is enclosed by a brick wall, built in 1720. A plaque on the wall, stating that the chapter is the custodian, was placed on the one-hundredth anniversary of the death- of President Madison.
