hazard to Park motorists. Such cattle are frequently found on and adjacent to Skyline Drive.
Because of this continuing problem Park Rangers will now catch and corral all trespass cattle until the owner is contacted. If ownership is not known, a description of the cattle will be advertised. If an owner is not found, the animals will be disposed of by public auction. Cattle owners should be aware that they can be charged in Federal Court for cattle trespass in the National Park. They will also have to pay all expenses associated with the capture and corralling of the trespass animals.
Requests have been made to the owners to upgrade the quality of their fences. Little or no improvement has been noted in the repair of fences or a decrease in cattle trespass thus requiring these new steps.
