Graduates Need Job Skill
“If we don’t educate the children within Rappahannock County so that they have a skill to get a job, we’re going to pay through our institutional system or welfare system...or other social services,” stated the Superintendent. He said that some students were not going to care about getting an education and would drop out of school no matter how high the per pupil expenditure of the system. “Until we put dignity back into work, we’re in trouble. It’s too easy to get food stamps and welfare,” he maintained, adding that often it was possible to get more, money from not working than working.
Bloomer was asked to comment on the chances of getting a qualified administrator to fill the vacancy this late. He answered that there were many individuals under contract as principal who would consider an assistant
