This avoids runoff. ■ *—Sprinkle children at the same time you water the lawn. —Turn off the water when finished. A leaky hose nozzle or unattended sprinkler can waste thousands of gallons of water a day. —Don’t sweep walks and driveways with a stream of costly water. —Mulch plants to retain moisture.
