Varner
Graveside services for Bernard Marshall Varner, 74, of Sperryville were held yesterday, Wednesday, in Woodville Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Ronald Wiley.
Mr. Varner died Sunday, February 19, 1978, in University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, following several weeks of illness.
The son of the late Charles W. and Nannie Edwards Varner, he was a lifelong resident of Rappahannock County. He was an electric and plumping contractor and a member of Washington Lodge 78 AF-AM.
Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Louise Schaefer Varner.
Pallbearers were Nelson Nethers, A. H. Buckner III, J. W. Fletcher, W. H. Lyne, H. B. Wood, Jr., and Frank Hume.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be sent to the Sperryville Rescue Squad.
