Browning who still lives in Flint Hill.
Founder Lewis Botts was the father of Mrs. Charlie Browning who lived near Woodville where William Lane currently makes his headquarters. Preston Browning, a son of the Charlie Browning, is still active in the real estate business in Culpeper and has a son named after his grandfather. A daughter of Charlie Browning was the mother of Mrs. Joe Brown of Culpeper and of James Hill Wood, clerk of Clarke County. Andrew Botts, who later was secretary of the company, was a nephew- of Lewis and lived in Woodville where the H.B. Wood family now resides.
Robert E. Miller was raised at Mt. Vernon farm near Sperryville and was a brother of John B. Miller. His farm near Woodville was called “Eldon" and that name was chosen by William Lane, currently the biggest land owner in Rap pahannock, as the name for his holdings.
