“Not knowing how to raise kids” is the number one cause of juvenile delinquency in Rappahannock, according to a list compiled by adults and teenagers who attended the March 26 meeting of the County Task Force on Vouth.
After coming up with 25 contributing factors, the group, as individuals, ranked the causes and then took a consensus to come up with the top Five. In order, the list included:
—failure of the schools to meet the needs of youth,
—unstable home environment,
County Tags
Due April 30th
County Treasurer Frances Foster reminds Rappahannock vehicle owners that the deadline for purchase of county tags is April 30. Auto, truck and trailer tags are S15 each and motorcycle tags are $8.
Personal property takes for 1978 must be paid and those for 1979 declared before tags may be purchased. Tag sales have been slow and the treasurer asks the public to speed up their purchases to avoid the last minute rush and inconvenience.
According to Sheriff W. A. Buntin, anyone with a vehicle registered in Rappahannock County who drives on the roads without a county sticker will be in violation as of Tuesday, May 1.
